Some events, people or ideas could shape our life in a totally new way1 Putting you on a new course, or at least re-interpreting the given one. I’d like to call them Crossroads.
(What was your Crossroads? Can you identify the biggest deciding factor on how is your Self shaped historically?)
While there’s many interesting and significant things to mention on my own path, I’d like to dedicate this section to this meta-narrative, and only list some

The legend of Hercules at the crossroads
My crossroads
-
One of my recent transformations is when I became sensitive on amount of suffering I support by my personal decisions. Figured out how oblivious we are for a cruelty happening around us, but away from open view - we are exploiting animals in a systemic industry-level scale. But humanity is finally slowly awakening to its green crossroads.

Lowering my expectations was a shortcut I took, I suppose there might have been better ways to find inner peace. But hay-ho, here we are.

I’d like to keep it broader than psychological term limit situations (Jaspers) which only refers to extraordinary events changing one’s life. Deciding factors and events might be absolutely mundane and initially not even perceived as of any importance. Choosing secondary school. Starting a new habit. Listening to someone or opposing them. ↩
