Challenge: Open your eyes to the hidden cruelty of mass-produced animal products. If you take a perspective of neutral observer, is it a good thing?
Question
Think, would you agree to swap places with any random pig or cow? If I’m able to remove or reduce some amount of unnecessary suffering on this planet, why wouldn’t I? Ref. Silver and Golden Rule.
Counter-arguments
One might think that other animals can’t be treated as equals to us - as they don’t have minds/souls/dreams/potential/plans as big as ours.
But:
- their nervous systems are capable of perceiving pain in a same manner as ours;
- our grandparents, once declining in intellectual acuity, still deserve humane treatment.
- as a species, if we are so special and awesome, on what ground? If it’s self-awareness and ability to love, why don’t activate these two here?
